Tsion Admassu Ayessa is the Founder and Partner of TM Law Firm, with over 20 years of experience in tax, customs, and litigation. She is recognized for her strong track record in handling complex regulatory matters and providing strategic legal solutions to both public and private sector clients.

She holds an LL.M in International Revenue Administration from the University of Canberra, specializing in customs and tax administration, and an LL.B from St. Maryโ€™s University College, Ethiopia.

Before establishing TM Law Firm, Tsion served in senior leadership roles within the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority, including Director of Federal Civil and Criminal Cases Follow-up and Director of Addis Ababa Civil and Criminal Cases Follow-up. She also served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Federal Attorney General.

Her experience includes serving as a Judge at the Federal Tax Appeal Commission, where she reviewed decisions of the Customs and Revenue Authority. She has contributed to the drafting of key Ethiopian tax and customs laws, including Customs Proclamation No. 859/2014, Income Tax Proclamation No. 979/2016, and Federal Tax Administration Proclamation No. 983/2016, along with related regulations and directives.

Tsion has played a significant role in advancing customs systems and enforcement mechanisms, including import/export clearance, transit, and warehousing procedures. She is also known for her leadership in enforcement operations and her contribution to professional training for customs officers, clearing agents, and the business community.

At TM Law Firm, Tsion advises clients on tax and customs matters, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. She represents clients before federal courts and provides expert guidance on legal drafting and policy issues.
